In 2015 Dorothy  desigCarers-support-Logo-620x197ned this course especially for carers based her own life experience of being the Mother of a son who has special needs. Insights into complete ” burn out” began a search for ways of maintaining her mental health and wellbeing. She now teaches this well-established course along with her associate teachers in both East and West Sussex.

There are opportunities for those curious about mindfulness to meet Dorothy to discuss their needs, ask questions about how Mindfulness is helping other carers and to sign up for the limited places available on Taster sessions and on the 6 session Mindfulness for Carers Course

The  Mindfulness for Carers Course begins with

  1. A taster session of two hours that gives a brief insight into Mindfulness the latest scientific evidence for its effectiveness. Participants will go home with ideas of how to introduce mindfulness into their everyday life.
  2. Four fortnightly sessions of two hours practising some gentle movement, sitting with breath and finding a special time just to be present
  3. The final retreat session is for three hours offering a further opportunity to find some quiet space.
